The key innovations employed by G7 – especially the “near neutral” calibration concept – have significantly impacted the way modern printing standards are written and applied across all print technology.
Here is a visual of the Lab color space of all 7 reference print conditions included in ISO/PAS 15339.
The hue angles of all 7 reference conditions are built on top of a G7 aligned starting point. Therefore, the hue angles align, regardless of print condition, creating a near neutral, visually consistent aim. These 7 commonly used print aims work equally well for packaging, commercial printing, digital, wide format and inkjet.
